Fotografický cyklus Kulinárske stratégie Kataríny Mudroňovej zachytáva moment tesne pred nezvratnou premenou. Stav napätia, v ktorom sa organická forma ocitá vo svojom „bode varu“. Autorka pracuje s vizuálnym jazykom kuchyne a receptúr, pričom každodenné domáce nástroje sa vo veľkoformátových fotografiách menia na nástroje kontroly, tlaku a transformácie. Proces prípravy jedla sa tu stáva metaforou vzťahovej identity. Premena odhaľuje krehkosť a zraniteľnosť ľudského bytia, formovaného nielen potrebou prežitia, ale aj túžbou po vzťahovom a estetickom ukotvení. Chuť, čuch a zrak fungujú ako sprostredkovatelia významu, zatiaľ čo samotný akt transformácie nesie stopy vnútornej, existenciálnej premeny.
Mudroňová vo svojej tvorbe dlhodobo skúma témy identity a medziľudských vzťahov, ktoré tu nadobúdajú podobu tichého, no nekompromisného dialógu medzi organickým a industriálnym. Fotografické obrazy neponúkajú sentiment, ale skôr chladnú analýzu nútenej premeny, jemne naznačeného mocenského napätia, v ktorom sa vnútorný svet stáva materiálom a človek jeho racionálnym stratégom. Práca nadväzuje na tradíciu zátišia, ktoré vo výtvarnom umení reflektuje dočasnosť a krehkosť života. Zatiaľ čo tradičný žáner často pracoval s konceptom memento mori, upozorňujúcim na smrteľnosť a konečnosť, Mudroňová stavia do popredia dynamiku a proces transformácie, odrážajúci vzťah človeka k sebe samému.
V medzinárodnom kontexte možno jej prácu porovnať s autormi, ktorí sa venujú inscenovanej a konceptuálnej fotografii. Annette Kelm skúma každodenné objekty prostredníctvom jemnej vizuálnej inscenácie, Richard Learoyd pracuje so svetlom a detailom v precízne komponovaných portrétoch a zátišiach, zatiaľ čo Vadim Gushchin transformuje reálne predmety do geometrických a abstrahovaných kompozícií. Tieto paralely poukazujú na širší súčasný záujem o fotografiu ako médium, ktoré nefunguje iba ako dokument, ale aj ako nástroj významovej a symbolickej konštrukcie reality.
Mudroňová svojou tvorbou otvára otázky krehkosti, jedinečnosti a nestálosti identity. Prostredníctvom zdanlivo známych situácií reflektuje napätie medzi vonkajšou realitou a vnútorným prežívaním, čím podnecuje diváka k úvahám o tom, ako procesy premeny formujú naše vnímanie seba samých.
Výstava predstavuje dielo mladej fotografickej umelkyne, absolventky programu MA Photographic Studies na University of Westminster v Londýne, ktorej práce boli prezentované v medzinárodnom výstavnom kontexte a ocenili ich odborné poroty. Kulinárske stratégie tak nepredstavujú len vizuálny experiment, ale aj citlivú reflexiu a metaforu premenlivosti identity v čase a priestore.

,,v tomto tichom divadle premeny sa kuchyňa stáva priestorom nehy aj moci“
Každý predmet, mlynček, krájač, nádoba či váha vykonáva svoju odmeranú formu násilia. Jablko stráca šupku, aby sa stalo prijateľným; vajce krváca pod naliehavosťou drôtu; cesto kysne mimo pokynov, akoby si rozpínanie pamätalo ako svoju jedinú slobodu.
Tieto zátišia nesú pulz opakovania, poriadku, ktorý si nárokuje krásu. Hovoria o meniacich sa telách vecí. Zmäknutie, prispôsobenie, vzdanie sa vlastného tvaru v mene harmónie. Pod povrchom zaznieva niečo intímne a hlboko ľudské, napätie medzi tým, čo sa zdokonaľuje, a tým, čo sa začína vytrácať.
Tu premena a kontrola zdieľajú jeden stôl. Nástroje sľubujú starostlivosť, no zároveň vykonávajú vymazávanie, uchovávanie sa stáva iným menom obmedzenia. A predsa sa pod každým gestom poddajnosti objavujú drobné vzbury, rozliaty žĺtok, zatočená šupka, fragment, ktorý sa odmieta podvoliť forme. Sú tichým svedectvom odvahy vecí, ktoré celkom neposlúchajú.
Každá fotografia načúva týmto šepotom, zvuku vznikania a odporu skrytého v procese. Je to poézia sily stretávajúcej krehkosť, premeny odohrávajúcej sa pod neznámymi rukami.

Katarína Mudroňová je fotografická umelkyňa, absolventka magisterského programu MA Photographic Studies na University of Westminster v Londýne, kde študovala pod vedením profesora Davida Bateho. Vo svojej tvorbe sa dlhodobo venuje témam identity, globalizácie, transformácie a medzikultúrnych vzťahov, ktoré skúma prostredníctvom inscenovanej fotografie a konceptuálnych projektov. Jej práce boli prezentované na viacerých skupinových výstavách vo Veľkej Británii a Európe a získali odborné uznanie v medzinárodnom kontexte súčasnej fotografie.

The photographic cycle Culinary Strategies by Katarína Mudroňová captures a moment just before irreversible transformation — a state of tension in which the organic form reaches its “boiling point.” The artist employs the visual language of the kitchen and recipes, where everyday domestic tools, in large-format photographs, are transformed into instruments of control, pressure, and transformation. The process of food preparation becomes a metaphor for relational identity. Transformation reveals the fragility and vulnerability of human existence, shaped not only by the necessity of survival but also by the desire for relational and aesthetic grounding. Taste, smell, and sight function as mediators of meaning, while the very act of transformation bears traces of an inner, existential shift.
Mudroňová’s work has long explored themes of identity and interpersonal relationships, which here take the form of a silent yet uncompromising dialogue between the organic and the industrial. The photographic images offer no sentimentality; rather, they present a cool analysis of forced transformation, suggesting subtle tensions of power in which the inner world becomes material and the human its rational strategist. The work draws upon the tradition of the still life, a genre historically reflecting the transience and fragility of life. While the traditional still life frequently engaged with the concept of memento mori, pointing to mortality and finitude, Mudroňová foregrounds dynamics and processes of transformation that mirror the contemporary relationship of the individual to the self.
In an international context, her practice may be compared with artists working within staged and conceptual photography. Annette Kelm examines everyday objects through subtle visual staging, Richard Learoyd is known for his meticulous use of light and detail in precisely composed portraits and still lifes, while Vadim Gushchin transforms real objects into geometric and abstract compositions. These parallels point to a broader contemporary interest in photography as a medium that functions not merely as documentation but also as a tool for the construction of symbolic and conceptual realities.
Through her work, Mudroňová raises questions of fragility, uniqueness, and the instability of identity. By means of seemingly familiar situations, she reflects on the tension between external reality and inner experience, encouraging viewers to consider how processes of transformation shape our perception of ourselves.
The exhibition presents the work of a young photographic artist, a graduate of the MA Photographic Studies programme at the University of Westminster in London, whose works have been exhibited internationally and recognized by professional juries. Culinary Strategies therefore represents not only a visual experiment but also a sensitive reflection and a metaphor for the fluidity of identity across time and space.

Every object — the grinder, the cutter, the jar, the weighing scale — performs its measured violence. An apple loses its skin to become acceptable; an egg bleeds against the wire’s insistence; dough rises beyond instruction, remembering expansion as its only freedom.
These still life images carry the pulse of repetition, of order insisting on beauty. They speak of bodies persuaded to change — to soften, to fit, to yield their shape for harmony’s sake. Within their surfaces lies the echo of something intimate and human: the tension between what is made perfect and what begins to disappear.
Here, nourishment and control share the same table. The tools promise care while performing erasure; preservation becomes another name for restraint. Yet under every gesture of compliance, small rebellions persist: a spill of yolk, a curl of peel, a fragment that refuses to mould. They mark the quiet courage of things that do not fully obey.
Each photograph listens for these murmurs — the sound of becoming, of resistance disguised as process. It is the poetry of force meeting fragility, of transformation under unknown hands.

About the Artist
Katarína Mudroňová is a photographic artist and graduate of the MA Photographic Studies programme at the University of Westminster in London, where she studied under Professor David Bate. Her work consistently engages with themes of identity, globalization, transformation, and intercultural relations, explored through staged photography and conceptual projects. Her works have been presented in numerous group exhibitions across the United Kingdom and Europe and have received professional recognition within the international context of contemporary photography.
